Solar panels were invented and have been in existence for several decades now but have never really caught the attention of budget-conscious residential owners because of the expenses they would incur in assembling it.
There are actually two types of energy emitted by the sun which humans can collect and gather for its renewable use.
Light and heat are the two most important and powerful energies discharged by the sun which is very useful not only for the earth’s continued existence but likewise for a greener world since the powers generated by the two are natural, potent, and most importantly free.
While the heat emitted by the almighty sun may be used in thermal systems which, in turn, can be exploited to produce hot water and air for both residential and commercial use, the light coming from the sun is a very potent source of power which can ultimately e transformed and converted into electricity.
A SOLAR PANEL USES PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM (PV SYSTEM) WHICH CAN CONVERT LIGHT FROM THE SUN INTO ENERGY
If one could harness the energy of the sun for just one hour, we could gather enough energy to power the whole world for well over a year.
Aside from being a cheap source of electricity in the long run, solar panels will also do away with the positioning of high-voltage cables which take months to prepare since these big electric cables must be positioned way below underground for the safety of the public.
Solar panels are composed of tiny pieces of silicon, arranged in cells called photovoltaic cells. Once the light from the sun touches the cell, the energy derived from it passes through the wires connected to the cells, in the process converting the light energy into another form of energy, ultimately, it is transformed into electric current.
There are several advantages as well as disadvantages in using solar panels as a source of electricity. For one, the big expense which one will initially incur in the development of his own solar panel for his home will be very big indeed.
One thing is for sure though. At the end of the day, solar energy is a very cheap source of energy. It will not only ultimately lighten the budget of the end-user, but more importantly, it will lighten the load off mother earth since it is pollution-free, as well as ecology-friendly.
